PTC (Parents, Teachers, and Children) is Discovery Charter School's form of a PTA (Parent/Teacher Association).  PTC is a non-profit organization that is comprised of parent volunteers with the support of the Discovery Charter School community.  An elected PTC Executive Board helps facilitate PTC meetings and school events.  PTC's mission is to "provide a variety of social and educational activities and events for the parents, children, and community that Discovery Charter School encompasses, focusing on fostering relationships that will build our community."  Membership dues are retained by Discovery Charter School and are used for the growth and improvement of the school community.

The suggested donation for a Family Membership is $25. Donations can be made at the end of the electronic form or using Venmo, Paypal, Cash, or Check if using the printed form.

Membership Drive

7/20/26 - 8/31/26

Families become members for the current school year. A competition is held between classes for the highest membership participation.

Spirit Gear

8/3/26 - 8/31/26

Families can order Discovery shirts/sweatshirts for purchase to display their school spirit.

Family Movie Night

8/28/26 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Families are invited on campus to enjoy activities, food trucks, and a movie!

  

Fall Book Fair

9/14/26 - 9/18/26

Families are invited to shop at the Book Fair before and after school. Students will visit with their classes during the day. 50% of the sales benefit Discovery.

  

Booster Dragon Dash

10/12/26 -10/22/26 (Fun Run on 10/22/26)

Students raise money for Discovery, earn prizes, and finish it off by running their hearts out.  Families are invited to watch the run on 10/22/26.

Holiday Shop

Students and families are invited to purchase holiday gifts for their loved ones.

Friendship Grams

2/1/27 - 2/5/27

Students and families are invited to purchase Friendship Grams which consists of a notecard and small gift.  Grams are delivered to students in their class the following week.

  

Spring Book Fair (BOGO)

4/12/27 - 4/16/27

Families are invited to shop at the Book Fair before and after school. Students will visit with their classes during the day. All purchases are Buy One Get One Free.

  

Spring Festival

4/30/27 (time TBD)

Families are invited on campus after school to enjoy activities and food trucks. This event is combined with the Multicultural Fair.

  

Staff Appreciation Week

5/3/27 - 5/7/27

Families are invited show their appreciation for Discovery staff each day of the week through notes, small gifts, or donations.

  

Q4 PTC Membership Meeting (Election and Budget)

2/3/27 @ 4:30 p.m.

Membership meetings are held virtually via MS Teams and are open for all to join. Elections for Board positions and Budget setting for the following school year will be held during this meeting.

Grade Level Meetups

Varies

Casual playdates will be scheduled to allow students to play outside of school and for families to get to know each other. If you are interested in helping to coordinate a meetup for your grade, please email the PTC!
